ARTIST PROOF BRAND LAUNCH

Ocean Star Apparel, Inc. has announced the launch of the much anticipated Artist Proof Brand. AP Creative Director and proprietor of Toy Qube, Keith Poon has developed the “Brand Canvas” for popular artists from all over the world to collaborate on a limited edition basis. Also well known as the designer ofboth Sharkey and Kanser collectible Vinyl toys, Poon has collaborated on projects with Futura Laboratories and 360ToyGroup and has been featured in numerous publications including MILK(Hong Kong), Playtimes Magazine(Singapore), Clutter Magazine(UK) and Hi Fructose in the US.

Artist Proof will begin to distribute to select better specialty and chain stores for the Holiday 2008 season.

In it’s first collaboration, Artist Proof has teamed up with Lucas Irwin, AKA “Filth”. A Brooklyn based artist and designer, Lucas helped to create ReadyMade Magazine and served as its art director for 2 years. During his time there, ReadyMade was nominated for countless design awards and was voted “best new magazine” of the year by Rolling Stone.

Lucas Irwin has been involved with “designer” toy leader, kidrobot, since the company’s inception. It is a little known fact that Kidrobot’s first office was actually a sublet corner of his old studio space. During his ongoing relationship with Kidrobot, Lucas co-created its iconic logo, as well as designed packaging, toys, clothing, advertising campaigns and marketing materials.
The initial collection consists of Tees, French Terry Hoods & Crewnecks, Tricot Jackets, Denim and Sweaters.
